Bolinas, CA: Yanagi, 1977. Limited First Printing. Single Sheet. An oblong (16&1/2"x11") broadside featuring a short, dark poem by Jim Carroll (1949-2009), the legendary poet, diarist & punk musician who was influenced by William S. Burroughs, Allen Ginsberg, Patti Smith & many others with whom he commiserated in the gritty atmosphere of pre-gentrified NYC. Featuring an image of clay sculptures evoking NYC buildings by Marc Blane. A very rare, haunting artifact for the Carroll collector. Broadside on Single Sheet: issued as No. IV of the Yanagi Broadside Series in a limited edition of 300 hand-numbered copies, this is copy No. 111/300. From the collection of Albert Glover (1942-2026), the esteemed American poet, editor, bibliographer, publisher & academician who was the foremost remaining authority on Charles Olson (1910-1970). Glover was a student of & anointed by the Maximus Master himself at SUNY Buffalo during the 1960s, & had ever since served outstandingly to bear the Olsonian Torch. We are deeply saddened by the recent passing of our friend & mentor. In Near Fine condition with only slightest shelf-wear to fine-edges of verso & recto sides, a vertical crease running through length of broadside at/near rightmost fine-edge & some curling throughout (easily flattened if put in a frame, where it belongs); otherwise, generally clean.
